Event Organizers
According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), it’s possible for the coronavirus to spread through touching an infected surface. Now more than ever, a clean event space matters. Here are guidelines to help keep yourself and others safe at your event.
Standard Cleaning Protocol
All vendors are required to do the following prior to each booking.
Clean any equipment that will be brought to the event
Supply any hand towels and/or disposable eatery, if applicable
Disinfect high touch surfaces and shared amenities during the event
Bring protective gear and sanitizing sprays/wipes/products
Put up sneeze guards or screens, if applicable
Post signage about physical distance
COVID-19 Event Advice Guide
We used recommendations from the CDC to compile a list of additional precautions event organizers can take to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
Limit guest count based on state and local capacity guidelines
Book a space that follow CDC guidelines for cleaning and disinfecting between every booking
Disinfect high touch surfaces and shared amenities with EPA-approved products
Provide a supply of disinfecting wipes, disposable gloves, or disposable masks for your attendees
Reconfigure the space or add markers for physical distancing
Post signage or messages about behaviors that prevent spread of COVID-19 for the staff, vendors, and attendees (such as on the event website, through event social media accounts, at the event space, etc.).
Communicate with Vendors
Vendors have the ability to add details about how they clean their work spaces and what cleaning amenities they can provide at your event. Make sure to keep in contact about what you will bring for your guests and what they will do to ensure a clean and safe event space.
Protecting yourself during a booking
According to the CDC, the coronavirus mainly spreads through person-to-person contact. Here’s how you can limit your exposure during your booking.
Practice Social Distancing
Stay at least six feet apart from anyone you do not live with.
Open Windows and Doors
Outdoor air ventilation can help minimize risk--if there’s an outdoor space, stay outside if you can.
Wear a Mask
All attendees should wear a mask that covers both their nose and mouth while indoors or in close proximity to one another.
Wash Your Hands Frequently
Use warm water and soap and wash for at least twenty seconds. If water and soap are not available, use a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
