During a recent California legislative session, the state legislature adopted SB 478, also known as the Hidden Fee or "Junk Fee" legislation.
The law mandates pricing transparency and prohibits “[a]advertising, displaying, or offering a price for a good or service that does not include all mandatory fees or charges.” It is specifically intended to prohibit drip pricing, which involves advertising a price that is less than the actual amount a consumer will have to pay.
Eventors complies with this legislation by automatically including all required Eventors Service Fees in your advertised rates. This means that, the price displayed, for your items and services, will include the Eventors' service fee in addition to your base rate.
(*) Note: this is done automatically and requires no action on your part.
Additionally, fees that are not optional (e.g., mandatory amenities or services) must be included in the advertised price when a client searches for your service listing. Therefore, vendors will not be able to add any mandatory service or amenity fees separately; all such costs, including any additional fees like service fees or mandatory gratuity fees, must be incorporated into your advertised rate.
